Ray writes to one of his brothers while at Bramshott waiting for the rain to clear after visiting some friends. He met Bert McCullough, the brother of the woman who runs the Post Office in Teeswater. Bert is on leave and tells him things are looking favourable in France.

Ray writes to his mother about his work fixing machine guns, church services he attended and visiting friends from home at Bramshott camp. He may go on a 6 day leave to Scotland.

Ray is out of quarantine and writes to his mother about his pleasure in receiving five letters from home with all the news.

In his last surviving letter from 1916, Ray writes to his older brother Ernie from quarantine.

Ray is still in quarantine and writes a letter to his paternal grandmother in Teeswater, ON.

Still in quarantine with not much to do, Ray writes 4 pages to his mother.

Ray's battallion has marched the seven miles from Witley to Bramshott Camp. Ray writes to his mother, describing what he saw on the march, as well as news of his first pay, his first pass and questions of home.
